Hi, I'm Joey!
It's nice to meet you.

I'm a producer, engineer, mixer, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City.

How I can help you:

In a world that seems to get more complicated by the day, now more than ever is it important to cultivate meaningful art through an attention to the artistic process. I feel that in order to grow as a musician, you need to turn your attention inward and shut out distraction. My goal in any project is to be the bridge between your creative headspace, and the rest of the recording industry. No matter what my involvement is, my passion is sharing my talents with fellow artists to help their songs exceed their wildest expectations.

Project Management πŸŽ΅πŸ€πŸ“†

Bring me on to help you quantify your goals. From booking studio time, finding session musicians and music editing, to registering with a publisher and getting music on streaming services, I can help you turn your ideas into a final result, and fast. Let me do the "boring" stuff and solve problems before you ever find out about them. That way, you can focus on what you do best: making music.

Engineering πŸŽ€πŸ”Š

At NYU's Music Technology program, I sharpened my understanding of the nature of sound. I tutored classes in acoustics and electronic music. I continue to work sessions in both the James L. Dolan Recording Studio at Steinhardt and the Clive Davis School of Recorded Music studios in Brooklyn. Further, my work at The Bunker Studios blossomed into great relationships with studios throughout the greater New York area. Whether it's a DIY setup or in a professional recording studio, I can help you get the best sounding recording possible, and quickly.

Music Production πŸ’Ώ

"My own thing is in my head. I hear sounds and if I don't get them together, nobody else will."

‍
I've been producing music for the more than a decade in Logic Pro and Pro Tools. My time at NYU and in the New York production scene taught me all the fun little industry secrets that take your music to the next level. I love being able to get those sounds out of your head and into your session. Your artistic vision is possible, and the great joy of my life is helping you find it.

Songwriting 🎼

"It all begins with a song."
Common phrase in Nashville, TN

The song is the center of all the work that I do. I've been writing (and rewriting) songs since I was 13. At NYU, I studied under 4x Grammy winner Kevin Killen (U2, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel) and 4x ASCAP winner Phil Galdston (CΓ©line Dion, Vanessa Williams). My focus is on cohesion between the lyrics, harmony, and production + engineering choices.

Mixing πŸŽšοΈπŸŽ›οΈ

I have a mixing setup in my apartment using Yamaha HS-5s, which are the modern versions of their classic NS10Ms. I have mixed tracks for artists like Rylie Faith, After 8:30, and Marykate Cecilia. I don't have a million plugins, but I do have the ones you need to make your tracks sound great. I work in Pro Tools and work entirely in the box.

Artist Representation πŸ“‹πŸ’Ό

I've been managing various artists in the NYC area since my freshman year of college. I have good working relationships with various venues across the city, including Brooklyn Art Cave, NuBlu, FirstLive, Alphaville, pinkFROG Cafe, and Bowery Electric to name a few. I believe that a fanbase can be built organically with powerful and consistent live shows. If the talent and music is there, the fans will follow naturally. However, I can't deny the importance of a social media presence. I believe social media should be used to enhance a song, not spam one. Let's build a holistic and creative image around your art.
